On June 6, H.E. President Abel Fattah El Sisi visited the Grifols Egypt for Plasma Derivatives (GEPD) booth at Africa Health ExCon 2023. There he listened to Dr. Magdy Amin, CEO of GEPD, explaining the latest GEPD milestones including the delivery of the first shipment of albumin derived from Egyptian plasma.  H.E. congratulated GEPD and Egypt’s nation on the progress made in building a world-class plasma-supply infrastructure to help the country become self-sufficient in essential plasma-derived medicines.

H.E. has visited the GEPD stand in each of the two years that Africa Health ExCon has taken place. During his visit, he was accompanied by the Prime Minister and Ministers of the Cabinet, the President’s Advisor in Health & Prevention Affairs, and Senior Government Officials from Egypt and the region.

GEPD was represented by Dr. Magdy Amin (CEO) and Dr. Ahmed Serag; Strategy & Projects Officer, whereas Grifols was represented by Mr. Eduardo Herrero, Grifols Executive Vice President of Industrial, Quality and Regulatory for the company’s Biopharma Business Unit.
