During Africa Health ExCon 2023, Grifols Egypt for Plasma Derivatives (GEPD) participated in a scientific session on plasma fractionation. Dr. Ahmed Serag, GEPD’s Strategy & Projects Officer, presented "Plasma Derived Medicinal Products: A National Approach Towards Self-Sufficiency and Sustainable Egyptian Patient Access,” providing the latest project updates such as the delivery of the first plasma medicines made from Egyptian plasma.
This was followed by a session on immunoglobulins presented by Dr. David Camara, Grifols regional commercial director for the MEAA region. Then Dr. Abdallah Abutaleb, a project manager for the World Health Organization, spoke about the economic implications for treating hemophilia.
After the presentations, the speakers and a panel participated in a colloquium that produced an enriching scientific interchange. The panel members included Dr. Magdy Amin (Chairman) from GEPD; Prof. Dr. Nermin Eldesoukey, Prof. Dr. Bahy Ayoub and Prof. Dr. Salwa Youssif.
